Help with destructive chewing in dogs in London
Positive reinforcement, one-to-one support. Chewing can come from teething, boredom, stress or being left alone. Finding the reason is far more useful than punishing the damage afterwards.
What destructive chewing can look like
We look at when the chewing happens, what your dog chooses and whether they are getting enough rest, enrichment and appropriate chewing opportunities. If it only happens when alone, separation-related distress may be part of the picture.
- Chewing furniture or skirting boards
- Destroying shoes and household items
- Damage around doors when alone
- Eating or swallowing unsafe objects
Good to know: Repeatedly eating non-food items can be dangerous and should be discussed with your vet.
